ModPlug Tracker, 8 channels, SNES Instruments, 3 days
Moving on to my fourth song in OpenMPT, I think this is pretty good. I hit some bumps along the road with an atrocious trumpet lead, but I opped to drop that in favor of a simpler guitar strum. I think the sitar's part is a little abrupt, but that might just be me. Nothing really much else to say here...I got inspired to make a desert song (I seem to make lots of Eastern-sounding stuff, don't I?) for the eleventy kabillionth time, and THIS time I actually submitted it!

I wanted to go for a kind of hollow (not as much as March of the Dimeri, though...gotta rework that), dry sounding song that well-reflects a desert. I don't have a specific name for the desert this plays in, but I know it plays twice in SDS...once in a yellow-y desert in Gramenon and second time in Subtus's Great Magnetic Desert (Magnetite filling desert, anyone? :D) Oh! And I looked into the legality of such a thing, and it turns out that under certain circumstances I would be able to legally release songs with SNES samples in them! ...As free seperate downloads...meh. Oh well, at least I finally got my way. And can you name where all of these instruments come from? :B

I really like this new song of yours dude! It's probably the first time I've heard you doing a calmer song. You've captured your own desert atmosphere and that's great. I can't quite tell you what your song reminds me of, but I'm sure you must have gotten some sort of inspiration from another game. Anyway, keep it up! :)
