About 24 hours.
ASEprite, 6 Layers, 24 Colors (3 are Knife)

Been gettin' kinda quiet here lately since my comeback, eh? Don't worry though, I've got ton of art in the wings such as this decent animation I made for :icongagaman92: for his birthday '12 a while ago. I really don't wanna overload people with submissions, but I don't wanna wait and submit things so far in the future that I no longer would want them in my gallery. I feel that I'm going to have to strike a compromise here...I hate compromises.

This is a basic standing, walking, jumping and 3-hit combo animation set, and I'm glad to see :icongagaman92: was satisfied after the amount of work I put into this. The palette restrictions, sprite size, smoothness of animation (except maybe for the jump sprite) and style were all worked on as hard as possible to emulate the style of Donkey Kong: King of Swing. Personally, I would have wanted to try out a DKC sprite set, but considering those sprites were not strictly pixel art (automatic anti-aliasing and lossy formats! Gasp!) I decided to stay in my domain and make a GBA-styled sprite. Considering I like to draw strictly 16-Bit sprites, I did well with these restrictions.

If you have any problems displaying this .GIF properly in your browser (even though that shouldn't be the case considering I slowed down the jump framerate from 10ms to 50ms just to fix this) then download the sprite and view in Windows Photo Viewer, which usually works for me.

Ahhh yes that awesome present you gave me awhile ago. :meow:

Looking back at it, you did a pretty good job at imitating "DK: King of Swing" sprites style. I could definitely see her in the game... I guess you made her a pretty ordinary yet good walking pattern, cuz she doesn't have a mind of a glamorous person (i.e Candy Kong), she was born as a wild creature, but she learned the ways of the pirates and to walk properly. I won't judge the way you animated her sword attacks, but normally there wouldn't be any wave beams coming out, her swords are plain and deal a lot damage when combined, but I digress. You did what you could and I thank you again for that. ;)
